27/2/2014 – Flew to Yorktown to collect semen from the Honner family’s bull Minlacowie Granite for sale to a NSW stud. Also semen tested some Shorthorn sale bulls for Chris Thompson of Bayview. Then flew on to Kapunda to collect 2 Limousin bulls for the Vogt family. All semen was then processed on return to Willunga.
22-24/1/2014 – Visited International Dairy Week and met up with quite a few clients, some exhibiting and some visiting. Attended a very interesting talk on sexed semen. The quality is improving and timing is critical with optimum being 18-24 hours after onset of standing heat. Two presentations on electronic heat detection were also very interesting and I see a big future for it.
17/11/2013 – Flight to Cleve with Brian Sharrock of Hamilton Genetics as passenger to collect 900 doses of a ram for Brenton & Jane Smith of Calcookara Merino Stud.
26/08/2013 – First solo flight to collect semen from 2 shorthorn bulls for Ashley Rowe at Ardrossan.
15-17/10/2012 – Attended IVF update conference in Florida USA, run by the International Embryo Transfer Society to expand knowledge in IVF.
10/09/2012 – Completed a hands-on training program in Vitrification techniques with Dr Masashige Kuwayama at the Centre for Human Reproduction Mumbai, India. Dr Kuwayama is a world leader in vitrification.
